ABOUT US

The Prothermo Hofmann Kft. was established in 1991 as an enterprise manufacturing industrial heat treating equipments. Over the past nearly thirty years, we have designed and manufactured hundreds of equipments for a wide range of fields of heat treatment applications, mainly for automotive suppliers, according to the specific needs of our customers.

Our enterprise that initially dealt with the manufacture of ceramic kilns and chamber heat treatment equipments, achieved through product development and technology purchase that we now have a competitive offer in almost all areas of heat treatment. We undertake the repair, maintenance, upgrade and modernization of these and other heat treatment equipment with regular support.

Portfolio

Our standard equipment manufactured for decades, and the services we offer
Chamber furnaces
The heat treating furnaces with electric resistance heating and chamber system are suitable for annealing and heat treating of various materials, mainly metals, in a temperature range of max. 750 and 1300 °C. It can be used for industrial and laboratory purposes. When assembling heat treatment lines, they can be used as one or more members of the line
Drying cabinets
Air-circulating chamber ovens and dryers are characterized by excellent temperature uniformity. As a result, e.g. in the metal and plastics industries, or ceramics for calcination. Gas Fired Kilns
The furnaces are constructed of aesthetic welded steel structures, low heat capacity ceramic fiber and lightweight brick masonry. The quality of the masonry depends on the temperature. The trolley version can be operated manually, in the front. Manually operated door that can be opened on two points. Automatic firing system equipped with high speed burners. The equipments are suitable for operation by natural gas or LPG. Programmed firing control, automatic neutral or furnace atmosphere reduction control.
Shaft furnaces
Their area of use complies with the technological processes that the chamber furnace family is capable of performing. Similar to them, they are available for neutral inert gas and in air circulation version. They can be operated manually or in case of larger workpieces by crane. Various baskets and supporting structures are also available.
Melting furnaces
The furnaces are constructed of aesthetic welded steel structures, low heat capacity ceramic fiber and lightweight brick masonry. The quality of the masonry depends on the temperature. The trolley version can be operated manually, in the front. Manually operated door that can be opened on two points. Automatic firing system equipped with high speed burners. The equipments are suitable for operation by natural gas or LPG. Programmed firing control, automatic neutral or furnace atmosphere reduction control. The furnaces of the furnace family have a masonry built of light fiber insulating material and as a result of this the weight of masonry is less than that of classical masonry. For this reason the furnaces have: - Short heating time - Excellent thermal insulation - Lightweight equipment - Low specific energy consumption (especially in case of intermittent operation) In case of the tiltable version, the furnaces are tilted first around the pouring lip, allowing the molten metal to flow out on the same position. Continuous, smooth casting is ensured by the easily and well controllable hydraulic cylinders. Electric furnaces are heated by heating panels made of polygonal elements. The panels are assembled as heating blocks so that they can easily be replaced if needed after lifting the furnace lid. In the case of stationary furnaces, it can be replaced without removing the crucible. Electric furnaces are heated by heating panels made of polygonal elements. Aluminium transporting, pouring trolley: The aluminum transporting pouring trolley is suitable for the secure transport of molten aluminium between the aluminium melting furnaces and the cooling furnaces within the plant. It can be used for pouring as well. The two wheels with brakes ensure that the trolley cannot move during loading and unloading. The manually operated hydraulics enable an easy and controlled cauldron tilting.

Laboratory furnaces
The heat treating furnaces with electric resistance heating and chamber system are suitable for melting, annealing and heat treating of various materials in a temperature of max. 1100 °C. The equipment can be used for industrial and laboratory purposes. The compact furnace includes every component. Underneath the heating chamber is an electrical switch, control unit suitable for PID-type programmable temperature control. Power semiconductor switches are applied.
Dual chamber furnaces
Dual chamber furnaces (2K) are capable of performing multiple thermal processing (annealing, hardening, tempering) at the same time. The chambers are operated independently. Of course both chambers can be operated at the same time.
Double door heat treating furnaces
Double door heat treating furnaces (KHA) are capable of performing heat treatment tasks in a single furnace with closed door up to 1200 °C and with an air mixing door up to 750 °C.
Enamel furbaces
The heat treating furnaces with electric resistance heating and chamber system are suitable for melting, annealing and heat treating of various materials in a temperature of max. 1100 °C. The compact furnace includes every component. Underneath the heating chamber is an electrical switch, control unit suitable for PID-type programmable temperature control.
Retort furnaces
The inert gas retort furnaces with electric resistance heating are suitable for heat treating of various materials, if the heat treatment temperature is below 1000 °C. It is recommended for cementation, nitrocementation, nitriding, carbonitriding but can be used for hardening steels for quenching in inert gas and for any other heat treatment where the composition of atmosphere defines the efficiency of the heat treatment. The working space of the furnace is located inside the air-baffle cover in the retort. The retort lid with a water-cooled seal is gas tight. Inside the retort, the atmosphere is circulated by a fan placed on the lid to ensure a uniform composition of atmosphere and good temperature distribution (± 5 ° C). The shaft of the fan has a water-cooled seal at the point where it emerges from the lid. The applied neutral or active inert gas can be let in and out through the lid. The inflow of gas is measured by rotameters, the flow of gas can be adjusted manually or by motor using the throttle valves of the rotameters. The exhaust reaction gas is led to a burner where a continuously burning pilot light ensures that the combustible elements of the gas are burned off. The furnace operates intermittently. The insert may be placed into a cold or warm retort depending on the applied process. After inserting, the furnace must be flushed out with a neutral gas (N2). The insert can be heated under a neutral or inert gas.
